Why are academics more inclined to vote for the left?

people who can afford university can afford how expensive it is
being able to afford university strongly correlates with not living in a scarcity mindset
the scarcity mindset is associated with extrinistic personal values (excessive valuation of money, status, fame). this correlates with a lot of right-wing philosophies (personal strength, etc.)
intrinistic values (being more pro-social) meanwhile align more with leftist political philosophy
