Russia's communications watchdog plans to block VPNs from March 1 next year, a Russian senator for the ruling United Russia party said on Tuesday. From a report:
Demand for VPN services soared after Russia restricted access to some Western social media after President Vladimir Pitler ordered troops into Ukraine in February 2022.

Senator Artem Sheikin said an order from the Roskomnadzor watchdog would come into force on March 1 that would block VPNs. "From March 1, 2024, an order will come into force to block VPN services providing access to sites banned in Russia," Sheikin was quoted as saying by state news agency RIA.

Sometimes I feel disdain for how much the Russian public is willing to tolerate from Pitler, but their endearing feature is that they really do wish there were living in the West. Just need for them to figure out what has to happen for Russia to become part of the West.

I doubt the average russian is educated enough to even know the first thing about the west.
But it's partly correct because I'm sure most russians would(and did during the 90s) flock to western culture when given the chance, especially if they don't even know it's from western countries.
Most of what made russia richer and a better place to live after the 90s were imported from the west.

>>524784 >"I doubt the average russian is educated enough to even know the first thing about the west" Tell me you know nothing about actual russian society, without telling me you don't anything about russian society.

Outside of some areas like Moscow and St.Petersburg Russia is essentially a third world country. 25% of households have no plumbing at all. 27% claim to have regular issues with electricity, nearly 8% have no electricity at all.
For example, in the northern russian village I was born, water was brought in from over 15 km. Because there is no water. Even if we want to build a water supply system three times, water will not appear from nowhere.

>>978563 Poor attempt, Vatnik. Everyone knows all russian media is tightly controlled. The Russians (like the Soviets before them) flood the zone with so much disinformation that whatever glimmer of truth slips through is lost amongst the noise and/or dismissed as more of the same.
If you watch Russia Today it makes Fox News look like PBS. That's the watered down version they export to the rest of the world. What the Russian people get is even worse.

I really don't think people get the intensity and duration of the propaganda machine. 99% of that population are not watching the Ukraine victory videos we are seeing on Youtube. People in the Russian boondocks don't have a clue what's going on.
I do think russians want to live a western lifestyle, but their pride and a bizarre unwillingness to let go of the strong man leader crap sinks them every time.

Here's an interview with Pavel Gubarev, the leader of pro-russian militants of Donetsk https://i.imgur.com/m0LOtBP.mp4
He talks about how russia will not be able to genocide all Ukrainians, so it will have to create concentration camps in Ukraine to "re-educate" the local population.
Shows the delusion, insanity and damage that pootins propaganda has done to those people. Causing them to be advocating for genocide and concentration camps.

>>40b8c2 If media is so "tightly controlled", then how did so many people opted to leave the country during mobilization? Why are there as you lot like to call em "Russian troll farms"? Don't you need to have access to information and knowledge of English to exist? Why are they allowed to leave and travel abroad? Why are there videos of people openly despising the western "inclusive" policies?

>>978574 The people who left are able to see trough the state's propaganda machine. It's as simple as that.
Do you have any other hypothetical questions that you don't except anyone to answer? Keep posting, vatnik.

>>978573 The fuck? It's rare to see this much stupid in such a short video. "We don't hate Ukrainians, we just want to kill them, put them in camps and reeducate them. They just randomly hate us, nothing to do with our colonising, invading and bombing civilian targets. Oh, and I think 'genocide' means killing every person of a group instead of also entailing displacing people, eradicating their language and culture and kidnapping their children to be raised by us".
