What is your favourite kind of Dystopia?

| Mine is cyberpunk dystopia, like the Vallhall-A one!

| Same tbh.

A zombie apocalypse also sounds fun, but a cyberpunk one would most likely be easier to survive by far.

| >>776364 Oh I also love the zombie apocalypse setting! But exactly like you said, it would be easier to survive in the cyberpunk setting by far

| GitS

| So post-apocalyptic that it wraps around to being comfy again, like Girls' Last Tour.

| Preferably any one that's not actually real.

| >>776377 Ohh g/u/rl, I love Girls' last tour! is one of my favs animes!

| >>776391 lmao that's true hehe

| My favorite post-apocalypse is “comfy” too. I remember seeing some art of one where the whole world was flooded and populated by catgirls living on top of the remnants of human cities. The whole vibe was very tropical and relaxing. 10/10 would flood planet earth again.

| Brave new world by Aldour Huxley. I think it predicted the current developments in the western world pretty good.
Much better than the more popular works of Orwell, which are massively misinterpreted and decontextualized by people that don't know and share or even fundamentally oppose the authors political ambitions.

It really is excellent. I'd highly recommend reading the manga too, if you haven't already. The last two volumes continue on from the end of the anime and finish the story.

I can't enjoy most cyberpunk settings any more because they're just too close to reality.

Reminds me a bit of Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou. I wouldn't really call that "dystopian" though, as everyone involved seems to be having a fairly good time.

| The ones that are real, like Eritrea or the Tibet in China

| Walkaway by Cory Doctorow has a nice Dystopian and uncomfortably probable setting as well.

| What happened in Eritrea? Last I heard, the current pm is sending troops to help the Ethiopians wipe out their fellow Tigrays.

| No need to worry about that anon, we are slowing becoming one, baby step after baby step.
