Wait, USA is finally ending gerrymandering?

| That will put a ripple trough tings.

FUCKING FINALLY

| Sauce.

| Sauce nao OP.

It seems it just passed the House. It's the largest expansion of voting rights since the passage of of the Voting Rights act in 1965. This is a BIG DEAl.

Republicans call HR1 a "power grab" because it:

-Establishes Automatic Voter Registration
-Stops voter purges
-Ends gerrymandering

It's a "power grab" -- grabbing power back to the people.

| The task now is for the Democrats to end the filibuster and get this trough the senate.

| >>711f72 back to the people? Wait a minute... You assume that you ever had any power and that you will regain it now with just blue colored bureaucrats? Ths absolute state of voters, kek.

Actually, I live in a country where voting actually matters.

Not sure what your point is but ending gerrymandering is an obvious step towards actually having your vote play a role.

| You can find the full bill here:

https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/1/text

and the section to end gerrymandering is explained under:
> SEC. 2413. Criteria for redistricting plan; public notice and input.

Thanks for the sauce.

Also, fuck gerrymandering lol. About goddamn time.

| >>743266 Will an expansion of voting rights fix the problem? No. Is it closer to a fix than doing nothing? Absolutely.

| Delaying the inevitable

| >it gets gerrymandered
