There is a huge misconception about what the left wants if it comes to equality and the goal of a classless society. It's not about "making everyone the same". That's exactly what capitalism is about: reducing all human beings to consumers and producers of standardized goods (except a minority of profiteers which lives in luxury).

In fact the huge majority of the left only wants "equality before the law" and "chance equality", which is absolutely reasonable and desirable for most people in the world. People who oppose this idea only do so because they are afraid of loosing privileges, which some of them got granted by their authorities. But freedom/liberty is not granted by authorities. People have to take it from them.
