Until this law is removed, 'gay panic' is still seen in the eyes of the law as a permitted excuse for murder, dropping the charge to manslaughter. This step forwards is one that should have been taken long ago, and shows how behind parts of Australia still is, and the degree of which is still greatly unknown to the global population. Either way, it is still a step in the right direction.

i'm extremely glad, laws such as this give people free reign to murder innocent people without any punishment.
