Nothing exciting has been happening lately in regards to rocket/space exploration or research. Is anything going on that I'm missing?

Recently the Falcon Heavy managed to land the center core along with both booster rockets, making it the first flight in which all units have been successfully recovered. There are plans in June/July this year to send two astronauts to the ISS in the dragon capsule. Next year, Starship will be takinga trip to the Moon. Rocket science still needs time to develop, so be patient. All of this is already much more development than the past 30 years.

Oh yeah, that too. They'll also be bringing rock samples back to Earth. In the future, we'll be seeing more of these and a lot of drilling as mining shifts from being on Earth to the Asteroid Belt.
