Uber halts self-driving car tests after death.

| A 49-year-old woman was hit by a car and killed as she crossed the street in Tempe, Arizona.

I saw this on the BBC and thought you should see it:

| There was a "human monitor" behind the wheel. I don't feel its right for people to be bashing driverless cars so hard on this one. As she was jaywalking, its possible a human driver would have been even MORE likely to hit her. Not saying the tech is safe or ready, just that its a bad example to judge/condemn it on.

| Getting self driving cars to work will take a while. I'd say countries like Japan will benefit the most from them since they want to help the elderly simply get by to places like supermarkets or parks.

Priority is more on autonomous drones and other military/secret-service stuff. Maybe Uber should follow "don't be evil" google/alphabet here.

| I see nothing wrong in a jaywalker getting hit.. come on Uber
