| When Russia started the war every analyst told that Russia is going to win in like a couple of weeks because it was the second biggest army in the world or whatever. No one believed in Ukraine and they obviously proved everyone wrong.
But in the Iran's case? I didn't see any indication that it might work. Iran is a big country. The protests were not about the US/Israel diplomacy, they were purely about the economy.
So... What was the plan? I don't understand.

| There are ways it can work.
Technically Russia is an ally to Iran but they aren't doing shit and are still struggling at Ukraine.
Iran due to being surrounded by US allies and having a generally bad rep due to terrorism funding, is under a lot pf pressure.
They can't do economic pressure properly due to how badly it could effect its own allies at most they have spread news about putting mines on trading canals.
| They also cant do military pressure without attacking any countries surrounding it, so they just do small strikes on them rather than full on assault.
Iran is clearly in a fragile state or at least pretending really well to be, by all accounts they lost, just haven't surrendered yet, but this could be because of their theocratical aspects with a mix of trying to como off as strong while they churn out AI propaganda.
| On the aspects of regime change, currently its still not within a reasonable chance, due to extremists civilians and remaining people in power trying their best the people on tight leash. There have been cases of people being shot for commemorating the death of the ayatollah.
So the current administration still has power to keep their population relatively in check.
2 ways it can go is attacks from national around iran to take it down or the population somehow manages a coup.
