rational and critical thinking

| if that's what's behind Marxism, doesn't that make it fascist?

No, fascism wouldn't work without irrationalism. The really interesting question is if capitalism could work without irrational thinking without becoming communism.

| >if capitalism could work without irrational thinking
it makes sense you consider yourself rational

Even thought capitalism rationalizes human interactions, it also tends to hide this rationalization behind irrational ideologies such as religion, nationalism and racism. Because humans aren't inherently and/or 100% rational thinking beings. Especially the interest conflict between capitalists (owners of productions means) and proletariat (who have to sell their working capacity to the first ones) is obscured this way. And even many capitalists believe in this schemes.

| The bourgeoisie, wherever it has got the upper hand, has put an end to all feudal, patriarchal, idyllic relations. It has pitilessly torn asunder the motley feudal ties that bound man to his ―natural superiors, and has left remaining no other nexus between man and man than naked self-interest, than callous ―cash payment.
