Elon Musk staff has been caught plugging in compromised hard drives inside the Office of Personnel Management(OPM), the Treasury Department, and the General Services Administration(GSA).
His staff encountered resistance when demanding that Treasury officials grant access to systems managing the flow of more than $6 TRILLION anually to programs like Social Security and Medicare.

Tensions escalated when Musk's aides were discovered at OPM accessing systems, including a vast database known as the Enterprice Human Resources Integration(EHRI), which contains sensitive information such as dates of birth, Social Security numbers, performance appraisals, home addresses, pay grades, and lenght of service for government employees.

In response to employees speaking out, Musk's aides locked civil servants out of computer systems and offices, with reports of personal items being searched.
Musk's literally not even in the government. Unless those staff members have both security clearances and need-to-know, they were engaging in espionage.

The email server that Musky setup at OPM was almost immediately found to have vulnerabilities that allowed people to send federal workers emails. “I haven’t laughed this hard in weeks. From a Scientology confirmation email to an Important Weather Alert that the next 4 years has a 99% chance of shit showers,” one federal worker wrote on the r/fednews subreddit. “I guess this is what happens when you plug in an unsecured server.”

One of Musks goons, a 25-year-old who's worked for Elon Musk companies now has direct control over a Treasury system disbursements from which amount to a fifth of the US economy(that's a fuckload of money). He does not have "read only" access, but high-level admin priviliges on a mainframe housing all the code.

If you want to read wired for free and 100% legally, download a library app like Libby(or go to libbyapp.com for the web version), get a library card, and borrow the entire magazine for free. Other than that a yearly subscription for wired is only $5 right now.
