general tips on learning music

| trying to play popular musics from 80s to recent lo fi on piano.... any tips on knowing how to improvise the thing/playing lookalikes? i know theyre mostly scales and chords but other than that how do you learn any song?

| check out the intervals and chord progressions from few of your favorites and build tonal memory by recognizing how and why the composers construct those while playing.

| >>c39e31 i know interval and chord prog, but i never know tonal memory or what do composers do with it.

tldr It's an ability to build/recognize the chord by hearing them, having it save time for actually analyzing them.

analyzing things like "the composer using major after
a tritone because that mf trying to resolve the tension they built for a scene of relief."

| use those tricks you have earn from analyzing when improvise.

Practically notes that's outside of the scale would easier cause unwanted dissonant but you could still make sense with them with rules like circle of fifth or invert them.

| Jazz niggas do those.

| >>7a912e minor second interval usually sounds dumb in most chords or scale dont they? except that rachmaninoff or mozart something who did the "wrong notes" minor second rarely sounds ok?
