Would self-promotion be okay here?

| Let's say, if I were to release my first couple songs soon. Would it be acceptable to post about and link it here? It would be on SoundCloud and I have literally nothing even resembling "clout" so I won't earn any money. I just genuinely want to share the stuff I make here on this board because of:

1. I loved it when Lanah/Song-chan was posting her tracks here and interacting with people.

2. I want feedback on my first stuff, but I don't really have any way to get it.

| I wouldn't have a problem with it and doubt most people would, though if you weren't really present and were just driving by to drop links it might be annoying. Doesn't sound like that's what you want to do

Well, no. There wouldn't be any point in doing that. I want to interact with people and get feedback and stuff. I like making music, and I like talking about it, I want to improve and see people's reactions.

Normally I wouldn't ask about something like this, but even though it would technically be self-promotion it's not for typical promotion reasons, if that makes sense. It's not for advertising, but to get help and hopefully entertain fellow g/u/rls in the process.

| I dont think so, it would help resurrect the /mu/ and talking about music in general is fun so why not

Hmm. Yeah! Idk if I would post it in /mu/ or make it an interactive thing in /u/ like Lanah did, but we'll see.

| /mu/ so dead that sometimes people just talk about music stuff on /u/ so the thread gets more activity. Sad

I agree that it's sad, but, it makes sense doesn't it? If I make a thread like what I'm talking about it would be to get feedback, and I can't imagine I'd get more than one reply at most if I posted it here in /mu/. I honestly wish /mu/ was more active, but I'm not noble enough to use this place for anything other than occasional little threads like this.

poopoo peepee

Ahaha

| Yes.

| last time i shared my music work someone asked me why i didn't credit the original artists because it was a remix and called me retarded
the original artists were literally 1) whoever was in charge of the propaganda department for communist china during the chinese revolution and 2) whoever created an obscure north korean folk song

so now i don't talk about my stuff anymore

A proper word of approval. I thank thee, overlord of these cursed realms.

Damn.
I just make original shit though, so that wouldn't be a problem. Well, I don't make the beats but obviously I credit the producers. That's retarded though. That's some dummy shit.
