So... Yeah I wanna start composing songs but all I know is your average elementary school level of music knowledge, basic guitar, some chords, major and minor scales. Now, I tried searching for tutorials all over but most seem to be aimed at people who already know their shit or are plain useless. Does anybody here have some advice on where the hell should I start? All this shit is so overwhelming

If you need tutorials to even start, then please just fucking quit already because you'll never amount to anything more than the most generic of sounds.
People with musical talent experiment and learn on their own until they understand the more specific things they could improve upon and only then should you even consider tutorials and classes.

The reason why you're overwhelmed is because you have not experimented enough and as such you lack all fundamental understanding, no amount of tutorials or reading boards will help you piece things together.
Experiment and fail, this will build your understanding and at that point your questions will be specific rather than vague and answers will be helpful rather than overwhelming.

Gotta either work up that basic knowledge of music, or just play around until you find something you like. Don't get discoraged if you don't find your groove right off the bat - this stuff takes time. If you keep at it, maybe you'll make something you're proud of, and that's what matters at the end of the day.

I have very little music experience but compose a bunch and can say that I've made a good amount of really great tracks. Thing is, I've made wayyy more awful ones. Everything comes down to experimentation, revision, and failure without really doing music theory. I'd just say go for music theory if music is your passion, but it will be hell. Only reason I haven't myself is because I do it for fun and for small projects, not for anything that requires godlike tracks. Just experiment!

If you don't want to or can't go to some sort of music school, then I honestly recommend just experimenting with it. Being self thought really isn't a bad thing. It just takes a lot of time and dedication, just like everything else. Good luck :)
