down with streaming services

| i am tired of streaming services and basically all centralization.
heres the idea : bandcamp but democratized. kinda like those old ghettoe mixtape platforms but with a large focus on aesthetics.

i will use this thread to document my progress. I have never done any website shit but i have a good feeling.

| Why focus on aesthetics on a music streaming/sharing platform?

| >>1059663
i feel that aesthetics are beginning to have a very large impact on music.

| >>1059670
How?

| >>1059674
Album covers for one
YouTube videos
Anime girl on night cure sombs

| >>1059663
>>1059670

also most streaming services / music websites are very ugly and bland

| >>1059676
Albun covers have a very large impact on music?

| >>1059701 Would you rather listen to lo-fi music with:
Very fast flashing images with subway surfers and candy crush rnning in the background
OR
a girl reading in her apartment at sunset with headphones on

The environment in which you listen has a huge impact on the music. AMVs (anime music videos) make songs waaay better if they're made correctly. Porter Robinson's "Shelter", for example. That video helped make the song popular.

| It’s sort of like how taste is affected by your environment too I think.

Neither? I don't look at the youtube image when listening to music.

| I decided not to bring the laptop. i will keep this thread active with ideas tho.

Idea 1 : set up a 24/7 radio that plays music from the site ranging from more esoteric to popular songs. Higher a Jamaican to dj 18 hours a day

Be careful about streaming music without a license though. Depending on your country you might get a fine.

In Germany for example the law states that you're not even allowed to stream your own music that you made yourself without paying a license and 100% of the proceedings goes directly to the 4 biggest record labels. It's fucked.

| >>1059923 cool it with the antirecordlabelism chvddie, your license fees fund our greatest ally israel
