Imagine that BCI exists and we have whole brain-software interface what makes us feel that we are in neural virtual world or we are able to use browser, play game(s) or anything totally disconnected from real world.. are you thinking that stimulating of neurons could speed up brain's activity and affect human's experience to have feel that reality is slower? and get 1 hour of experience equal to few irl seconds or anything?

Genuinely doubtful and even if possible I would imagine only irreparable kinds of damage, physically, psychologically, etc., would be the end result. Neat as it would be, there's just now way that ever works out.

Well, commercial BCIs are coming. There's already a setup that allows fully paralyzed people to play video games, there's an old demo of someone using it to play FFXIV.
And there was a Japanese study about 5 years ago that showed the brain can be trained to naturally operate a 3rd & 4th arm in addition to doing other hand-eye coordination tasks.
The research has all been done, it's just a matter of getting the engineering done to make a viable commercial product.

But I don't think the time acceleration aspect is likely to happen, not without a full upload. Our brains transmit a lot of information chemically, and it takes time for those chemicals to propagate.

but imagine being able to play video games in your brain... When I am sleep drifting I sometimes play whole Medieval 2:TW battles in my brain but I have to admit by hardware isnt good enough for bigger battles which sucks. So itd be awesome.
(also people were scared of radios in private homes too at first and then it became a norm)

>>949470 almost >>949472 too late, there are at least 10 companies working around it, (mostly on EEG principe, from invasive one is here for example BrainGate. from not invasive: Emotiv, NextMind, Bitbrain, NexStem, Valve/OpenBCI/Tobii (Galea) etc..
