| I like haibane renmai better, but can’t you at least appreciate the aesthetic of lain? I thought it was an interesting experience, though I actually didn’t think it had too positive or coherent a message.
| This is how you know Lain made it. It's been getting more haters. It was touted being really good and criminally underwatched. And that was true! But that sentiment keeps spreading and more people keep buying into and hyping this "niche".
Now it's got a sizeable audience and people still pretend it's niche and so it sounds better than people originally made it out to be.
Defintiely not mainstream but comparable to other fanbases like Nichijou.
