Was Freud right?

| I think about that whenever I see incest trending on any porn website, hell even incest doujins are abundant.

| Do not mistake stupidity for something else.

Freud was saying pure bullshit btw.

| >>726409 well at least we know someone is in full rejection mode.

| What he says does have merit, just not on the scale that people think it has, if you think all he says is stright facts then you are an idiot.

Its more of his interpretation of the human subconsiousness and tgus it is super relativistic and more loose then any scientific research but in you go from behavioral studies then you see that what he says is partialy responsible for out decisions, we dont act exaclty like freud implies but we do think the way he emplies in our subcon

| Yeah, Idk if us anons who never studied psychology can critically critique Freud when we never read his work.

Regardless im more a elder sis/brocon then im into mommy/daddy play, cousins are a mixed bag but can be good too.

| Oddly "fucked up family" is a meh for me, you ain't hiding shit from anyone if you turned the whole household into your personal harem

| >>726442 alabama be like

| >>726441 the mommy/daddy thing seems to have been around forever, but the rise of popularity seems to rise out of nowhere, that's what intrigues me.

| how do anons think it became mainstream?

inb4 'taboo sells'
still doesn't explain the rapid rise in popularity.

| Lacan>Freud

| >>726420
He said a woman was faking a nose bleed had a friend open her nose and stitch it back up. Came back because there was gauze left inside and nearly fucking died
His conclusion
"She was faking a nose bleed"
Freud is a hack piece of shit.

| >>726503 and what does this has to do with his merit tho? Like ok, asshole move but like just cuz a dude who punched a kitty said that gravity exists doesnt mean that gravity is fake.

Separate author from work for fucks sake.

| >>726446 pornhub algorithm coincidence. videos get recommended based on fetish tags, random variance creates a spike in incest, big companies see the spike and make a bunch of incest porn, increased prevalence of incest porn generates a larger spike.

| >>726521 tbh most likely yeah, I'd bet it was just ppl finding it online, rather then having the hots for your actual family.

| >>726578 but isnt it weird how people dont mind that it is incest porn?

I think it is a culmination of both, freud was right (at least in a subconcious level) and companies are also push it

| >>726609 Dunno, my suspicion is that it's not your family per say thus it's easier for people to watch.

Idk too much about Freud outside the penis envy theory (how little girls subcontiously want their dad's dick and only settle for other adults and that's how they develop a healthy relationship with sex), which I imagine is not what's going on.

| Like I recall reading about a survey asking people who watch that porn if they'd fuck their parents, to which they mostly said yes, as opposed to fucking (insert name of parent), to which they said no.

| Tho maybe they subcontiously do and are just lying to themselves, so who knows man.

| >>726612 thats my interpretation of it, its all subconcious

| >>726521
This.
It's happened before, but this is the largest.

| Freud had (and still has) some valid points. Like many scientists in his era (most notably Charles Darwin and Marx/Engels) his work was perceived as something new and revolutionary because it contradicted many religious/ideological crap people were told for a long time by the old authorities.
But people found a way to abuse such "revolutionary" theories thanks to systematically misinterpretion and/or dogmatization.
Funfact: Lots of the religious crap was once "revolutionary" too.

| Don't expect (scientific) theories to be the final and only answer to everything. That's the job for religions - which at the same time is their biggest flaw.
Of course this still means there are theories that are more (or less) likely or useful than others (which also always depends on the situation).

In short for OP >>4c5dd4
Freudianism is as stupid as saying "freud was all wrong".
Plus you cannot seriously proof (where) "freud was right" just by your own personal observations.
