| the biggest reason your part stands out is because you used present tense but the other 3 are past. Also, you should use more separate sentences.

| It's a weakness that I always default to present because it seems more active, and since when I first got started it was with other people doing it in present, but now in the BIG WIDE OCEAN everyone's in past and I'm just like, 'well shit.'
And fuck, I've been awful about run-on sentences since middle school.
