>The "Dang! Pad Thai" food stall has been reopened on the busiest steeet of Downtown. Now with many new improvements to the stall; the interiors of the dining area had been redesigned to have a bar-like counter where patrons can have a seat and interact more with both the cook and other patrons while enjoying their meal. Some of the original metal tables and chairs were kept for those looking for a more authentic Thai street food experience.

>The original stall, along with the cooking utensils, has been integrated into the bar counter, which was designed to reflect the original style of the stall, complete with the menus and "Dang! Pad Thai" in big bold letters at the top. Atop the counters is a physical chess board, with a sign "Have one order free of charges if you beat me at a game of chess!" above it.

>The place is relatively quiet right now, with a few patrons enjoying their meal. Dang himself is juggling between playing a game of chess against a couple of patron, particularly a young woman as her partner seems content with just watching and cheering on.

>After a while of playing, the woman beat Dang at the game with a checkmate.
"Wow, nice play, kid."
>Dang remarks, wiping some sweat from his face as he shakes the girl hand and immediately goes to serve another plate of food to the girl's partner.
"Alright, fair is fair, you beat me. As agreed, this one's free."
>Dang says, gesturing at the food he just served.
"Thank you."
>The woman replies, smiling.
"Nice work, Alix."
>The man compliments his partner.

>A small figure approaches the stall slowly >Blonde Hair held in a long flowing ponytail, a large military hat with a stiff visor, two oni-like horns atop her head. >Anyone who knew her would recognize Major Chanka from the GCPD, although her uniform looked very formal, almost like that of a commander or military official >Several medals clink as she stops and looks at the stall, her red eyes surveying lazily the surroundings "Hmmm?"

>>720346 "Hey, little lady! Looking for some food? Come on in!"
>Dang shouts at Chanka, waving her over.
"Come on, take a seat!"
>The place has a few patrons, some are sitting at the tables inside, talking amongst themselves and eating some food while others at the bar are enjoying their meal relatively quietly with a few oddballs conversing with some other random people.

>>720372 >The girl approaches and sits down at the bar-like counter, putting her hat next to her in a tired motion >She seems a bit groggy, her eyes half open >She sighs "I'll take anything you got that's spicy... rough day" >She says, her bell-like voice tinted with some tiredness

>>720382 "Why? Wanna let it out?"
>Dang replies as he pours you a glass of cold refreshing lime-soda, before quickly walking over to fire up a pot.

>>720406 >Chanka accepts the drink and takes a sip, holding the glass carefully with her small hands "Just, meetings, mee-ting, meet--ings... argh" >She says, elongating her words

>>720530 >The glass of limenade is cool to the touch. The drink itself is fizzy and sour as you drink it, which might help wake you up. But it's also a good bit sweet and cooling.
"Yep, meetings are boring alright."
>Dang remarks as he starts simmering some coconut cream in the pot. He add some bright red paste and stir them together.

>He then slice up some kaffir lime leaves until it gives off a strong fragrance and throw it in, followed by sliced pork, chicken stock, chopped bird's eye chilli, and an array of other spices and condiments. >Once the curry is done, Dang pour it over some hot jasmine rice and serves it to you.
"Pork Phaneang Curry."
>Dang announces, the dish is a bright red and yellow curry garnished with some kaffir lime leaves. It gives off an amazing smell which makes your mouth water.

>Chanka takes note of the dish, and nods >She takes a bite with her small mouth, revealing the sharp shark-like teeth within. >She nods to herself. "Hmm, pretty good, spicy enough... Yeah that wakes me up a bit" >She smiles widely and happily "I never tried this sort of food before, but its good isnt it!" >She laughs "All I need now is a beer!"

>>720616 >The dish is definitely hot and spicy, but it also has a mild saltiness and sweetness to it, as well as the aromatic scent from the kaffir lime.
"There's plenty more where that came from!"
>Dang laughs as well. At the mention of beer he walks over to a fridge and pulls out a small metallic can with a stylized golden lion and the letters 'SINGHA' on its side. He returns and offer the tin to you.
"There's your beer. Thai Singha beer, pale lager."

>It is at this point that the spiciness of the phaneang curry acts up once again. After having a nice cold drink, the touch of even the warm jasmine rice seems to multiply the lingering hot feeling on your tongue. It might not burn as much as the other Thai recipe, but it is still spicy and hot.
"Anything else I can get for you, officer?"

>A pair of individuals show up to the food stop. One of them was this slightly tall, slightly buff young man wearing a military jacket while the second was a small-looking Lilim with long blue hair and boy's clothing that just didn't match her innocent smile.
>The tall one looks quite impressed with the place

>>722379 >Chanka relishes the taste, her weariness burned alongside the spiciness. >Her legs are swaying along as she drinks her second beer, she seems to take her time with this one. >At Dang's words she takes a bit, pausing her movements. >>722497 >He pour some chicken stock and some sliced galangal into the pot. He then pour in some coconut milk. Once the soup boil he adds in some chicken, kaffir lime leaves, straw mushroom, chillies, and fish sauce. He then seasoned it again with some lime juice and served it up in a bowl.
"Tom Kha Gai."
>The soup itself is white, as are the straw mushroom and chicken. The white color is contrasted by the green coriander leaves, lemongrass, and the bright red bird-eye chilli

>>722869 "..Can you get us two servings of the cheapest you have?" >The tall one looked at the menu sorting through prices instead of ingredients "An uhh.. mild dish and a spicy one please"
