(ooc)Smart weapons

| I wanna know if you can convert a normal modern rifle into a smart rifle with the same caliber,I'm not used to cyberpunk weapons that much, also how do smart weapons work

| I don't know if infrared, thermal scopes, movement sensors, etc. count as "smart", but you could make a really cool twist regarding those addons, no? Like maybe a scope to specifically aim at Lilim through walls of steel. (even though it's just a glorified thermal scope)

##Janitor:Stormy##

| Depends on what you mean by "smart" weapon. In the context of Shadowrun, my understanding was that a "smartlink" gun was a gun that's actually attached to you and can be controlled by programs/uses cybereyes/works with wired reflexes, but I've also seen it used to refer to weapons with auto targeting et al.

In the context of say, an automated turret, you can probably jerry rig a rifle to work as a sentry gun, maybe.

| Alright,so my take on "smart" would be kind of like a weapon with auto targeting system like the smart pistol in titanfall 2 or something like that

| >>523466 pretty much same over here, weapons that are "smart" in some way like auto targeting

| So,what I'm trying to say is,can I rig like say,an AK-47 to have ability to folliw what I want them to without actually aiming at it,is there any special gadget or special ammunition for something like that

|

| I mean, the AK itself is kinda like a knife, by itself it can do harm, but it's mostly the one using it. Also the fact that bullets shoot where you aim them, and not the gun itself deciding where the bullet goes, so I'd say that >>523401 (Stormy-senpai)'s suggestion about the turret would be the best thing you could have. Maybe rig the auto turret to wield a deagle on your arm or something like that if you want it for mobile use idk.

| You could try an auto-aim mod by feeding thermal or sonar input to a single board compuetr with realtime target tracking and movement-prediction software and use the output to drive the discharge of a series of compressed air nozzles around the shooting end of the barrel. With enough pressure you should be able to. If you put the the compressed air (or gas) reservoir in a backback you can probably achieve a decent autonomy. You Aldo probably need to reduce the mass of the gun.

| *also

| >>523873 that could actually work. It would be a real pain in the ass to make, but it could actually be a really cool and functional thing

| Yeah the army decommissioned these because they killed too many innocent people. >>deb564
