Labor shortage my ass~. In 2021, the anime industry hit an all-time revenue high of $18.4 billion yet low-rung anime illustratiors can make as little as $200 a month. Even top animators reportedly earn just $1,400 to $3,800 a month.
Netflix Japan and WIT Studio can go and suck on a big fat rock if they keep this shit up.

>>940253>>940268 It's called Dog and Boy and only the background art is AI generated. Spoiler: It looks like crap.

>>940274 Tell me about it... They stole artists work through AI gen and then claimed labour shortage despite there being tons of uneomployed graduates with illustration and animation degrees. They're simply too greedy to pay their employees a fair wage.
As if anime in the 2020s wasn't soulless enough already.

>>940253 Have you checked out Nothing Forever yet? It's a seinfeld parody where dialogue, animation, camera angles and music are all AI generated on the fly.
Obviously, it sucks. The jokes are akin to "Why did the chicken go to the playground? To play on the swing set." *laugh track*

>>940298 this is really interesting from a technical standpoint, and will only get more sophisticated as time goes on.
It also reminds me of a detail in a book where the protagonist is one of the last people living in the last city before the world ends. There is a theatre that continuously plays a randomly generated film, and they remember it used to be a grand opera with hundreds of characters but now is just one character sittinf in a dark cave, staring at the camera angrily.

>>940336 Sounds like an interesting read, what's the name of the book?
The more I hear about AI, the more I think how ethical it is to create them?

They used AI to make backgrounds for the animation, this is really bad for artists
