If you look back 20 years ago, socially awkward girl is only for side/gag character. But now we can have a beloved anime featuring them
I don't watch them, but when my family watch k-drama or one of those chinese/indian fantasy series, I often take a glance and they are just showing the same tropes, played by different actor.
I think anime/manga is at a healthy state if they try/invent new stuff.
