Mangarock growing a conscience

| So recently every single manga in MangaRock is seemingly replaced by the same manga talking about how bad scanlations are for the artists, even tho they've been doing it for a few years now. Any opinions on this?

| I'm not sure their stance is true. I wouldn't buy manga if I didn't know about them beforehand from sites like mangarock and if free alternatives didn't exist I wouldn't even read manga. Maybe I'm in the minority here? But the fact still remains that the sole reason those authors got my money was because I knew about and started loving their works trough free sites.

| I know that some sites in Japan charges you a tiny amount to read new chapters and you also get a few freebie points ever day. It's a practice that I can see myself using over free alternatives if they don't get too greedy with the price.

| If Manga and anime was easily accessible and reasonably prices I would pay for it. But that's just not an option in my country.

| Scanlations aren't for the domestic japanese audience, but the international one. Make an easy way for international audiences to access in their native language and pay easily, and you'll see a minor increase in profit.

| wait, isn't mangarock just ded ?

| I suspect MangaRock is in the process of attempting to go legit. They see money to be made. They have an audience, and maybe, if they post a cute little comic about how scanlation is bad for artists, just maybe they'll retain some of that audience when they go legit.

| It's a shame that they do update faster than other sites on certain releases I like or they have some that other sites don't, but I'm still just going to jump on alternatives rather than stick around to find out what comes next.
