If the light novels were the original work, they do tend to be a lot better. Just saying.
I haven't watched it yet, but I'm really happy about genuinely interesting character designs for once. With both this, BNA and I think there was another one too, animal style characters are becoming popular, which is a lot more interesting that every anime character looking the same. Having traits that very clearly differentiate characters is just really nice.

| >>645324 it really depends. anime tend to leave out a lot of things, but those things could actually be shitty anyway. but from my experience, I like looking at the shitty part. like in yuru yuri manga, the main character (kyouko) is fully aware they live in a manga, which gives it a hint of existentialism (but really, who cares).
also beastars was ok, but I dropped it because it feels unfocused at times. I like exploring legosi's internal crisis, not so much the drama stuff.

I don't really understand the stigma against 3d anime. Sure, Berserk 2016 left us all scarred, but stuff like Ajin and this have genuinely good animation.

3D anime looks garbage. I don't know what stigma you're talking about. You can tell just at the first glance that 2D animation is superior. And not only that, it's also easy to tell which anime has decent budget based on their animation. After all, anime is all about highly competitive observation for the most accurate scene by scene analysis, not some lame ass "StOrY". You can trust me because I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals with over 300 confirmed kills.
