tate no yuusha controversy

| What do you think of the controversy surrounding this particular anime?
I read it (web novel) before the whole 3rd wave feminism gained so much steam and did not think it would receive such a reaction

| Don't know. Don't care.

A reasonable response.

| Remember goblin slayer? It hasn't been 3 months since it ended and no one is arguing about it anymore.

Don't waste your energy attacking/defending a currently airing anime, since most of them won't matter after the next season rolls in.

Plus, western audiance do not hold much value in anime industry. So no amount of SJW or Altright movement will cancel a show.

| What controversy?

| Feminism is actually cancer.

| Is it about the slave girl thing?
Long time since I last read the manga

OP here
I'm not defending either side, just trying to get some perspective as to the opinions of the g\u\rls on this board, I don't exist on the american political spectrum

| I'm out of the loop, what's the controversy around this anime?

Ep 1 basically has a false rape accusation.

After labeled as a rapist, the protagonist has the attitude of "fuck everyone" he also hold grudges at the girl who accused him, so it kinda become "fuck woman"

He then bought a slave. But he kinda treat her well, so I don't think much of the controversy came from the slavery.

Didn't watch past ep3. So idk what happened after that. It's not that interesting.

Oh yes, false rape accusations, the enemy of every third wave feminist. How dare they pretend that women arent 100% always right???
I dropped the show as well sadly, so I dont have much to offer beyond shitposting. But am curious what jap friends thought of this "controversy".

| >>533031 "what an interesting plot point" probably

| Luckily no one in japan cares about the "controversy" or what westerners think. So it's all just a small group circle jerking each other while yelling at a wall.
